What is the Water Confidance Program?
It's Perth's first wheelchair accessible, in-person, on-water graduated education program that introduces people with disability to recreational fishing and boating, building the practical skills, knowledge and confidence to take part safely and independently.
Delivered on our custom-built wheelchair accessible charter boat from our berth at Hillary's Marina,
Now everyone is able to have Fun, achieve their goals, and enjoy Perth's beautiful coastline, learning all the practical skills to feel safe and build confidence on the water.
Beginning with First Tide
Participants join the Captain on board while the boat remains safely tied up at the pen, giving participants a comfortable, low-pressure introduction to the boat before they ever leave the marina.
You'll learn a variety of different boating and fishing skills that help build the confidence to take the next step and achieve your goals .
From First Tide to First Ride
Having built your skills and confidence at the pen, you'll now board the boat and set sail for your first 90-minute trip out of the marina, Fishing rods and rigs in hand.
Staying close to shore around Hillary’s Boat Harbour, put the skills you've learnt into practice and discover the joy of fishing!
Now you've got your sea legs; the ocean is your Oyster.
